In the late '70s; Bottega Veneta introduced the tagline "when your own initials are enough"; to emphasise the importance of craft over branding. The motto remains central the brand to this day, as shown by styles like this cardholder. It's been handmade in Italy from strips of black leather and is woven using the intrecciato motif, a favourite of the mid-century.
